I Surrender All by Buddy Jewell

Buddy Jewell has created a beautiful country album with a spiritual theme as well as a gospel album with a country theme. I Surrender All is the fourth self-produced album by Buddy and it grew out of a simple request that Buddy’s Mama Jewell asked of her son. She requested he make an album of some of her favorite gospel songs and the project began. “My mother Eva had asked me on several occasions to record a few gospel songs for her,” says Jewell. “Over the years, several friends and fans have suggested that I do so as well. So, in November of 2010, I began the process of putting this record together. It’s a collection of spiritual songs, some from the past, some from the present, and all from my heart.”

Jewell goes on to say “Recording this album almost felt like a homecoming for me,” says Jewell. “These songs are familiar and comfortable. Somehow going back to my roots, to the messages and scriptures that have made me who I am, is opening doors and windows I never imagined possible. What was meant as a gift for my mother has truly turned into a blessing for me.”

The album is beautiful and emotionally energized. I suggest whether you are a country music fan, Buddy Jewell fan, or a gospel fan, buy the album. You won’t be disappointed.

The remake of Footloose has given some great publicity for Country Line Dancing and Country Dance Clubs all over the nation, similar to what the movie Urban Cowboy did for Country Clubs in the early ’80s.

Levi Hubbard and Starla Rodgers of California choreographed a line dance to the original Footloose song from 1984. Now, in 2011, the line dance is coming back to the hardwood as clubs are spinning the new version of the movie’s theme song by Blake Shelton.

Writer/Director Craig Brewer (”Hustle & Flow,” “Black Snake Moan”) delivers a new take of the beloved 1984 classic film, “Footloose.” Ren MacCormack (played by newcomer Kenny Wormald) is transplanted from Boston to the small southern town of Bomont where he experiences a heavy dose of culture shock. A few years prior, the community was rocked by a tragic accident that killed five teenagers after a night out and Bomont’s local councilmen and the beloved Reverend Shaw Moore (Dennis Quaid) responded by implementing ordinances that prohibit loud music and dancing. Not one to bow to the status quo, Ren challenges the ban, revitalizing the town and falling in love with the minister’s troubled daughter Ariel (Julianne Hough) in the process.
