“Out With The Girls” by Eileen Carey

Ever since Eileen Carey was a little girl growing up in suburban Cleveland, Ohio, she’s been surrounded by a world of music. An accomplished drummer by the age of 13, Eileen regularly performed at family and school functions throughout her high school years. Although well received on a local level, Eileen sensed the confines of her small town might be holding her back. With the support and encouragement of her friends and family, Eileen made the move to California during the late 80’s where she got married, started a family and went to school to study acting, film and theater.

After innumerable casting calls and auditions, her persistence and hard work paid off on the acting front as she landed a role as one of the original “Uh-Huh Girls” supporting Ray Charles in a national Pepsi advertising campaign and Super Bowl performance as well as roles in Hoffa, Basic Instinct and the original Batman movie.

Just as her acting career was taking off, Eileen thought it was time for her music to once again take center stage. Starting with the foundation of her musical youth that included the great stable of Motown artists, Akron’s own Chrissie Hynde of The Pretenders, The Beatles and world-class songwriters like Diane Warren, Eileen always had a heartfelt appreciation for music as a powerful means of communication. With that notion in mind, Eileen started to concentrate on writing and performing her own songs.

After honing her live performance skills at local clubs and regional music festivals, Eileen started recording and releasing her music, including her most recent album, Movin’ On, which has won Americana Album of the Year at the 2009 Los Angeles Music Awards and Song of the Year at the 2009 South Bay Music Awards for the single “That Was Her, This Is Now.” The dance remix of her latest single release, “Out With the Girls: is currently being promoted at 250 country music dance clubs in the U.S. An upbeat anthem empowering women everywhere – “Out with the Girls” has been nominated for “Dance Song of the Year” at the 20th Annual Los Angeles Music Awards on Thursday, November 18 at Paramount Studios in Hollywood, California.

A boomer by birth, Eileen connects with women her own age through familiar themes embedded in her songs. Women repeatedly tell her that her message of personal empowerment and emotional fulfillment inspires them. Simply put, Eileen feels that, “asserting oneself, having faith in your ability and the willingness to seek out opportunities and take chances are all things that I emphasize in my songs. Do the right thing and try and enjoy yourself as much as possible.” Although she says hearing her music on the radio for the first time was great, her favorite moments are when she “puts a smile on someone’s face. That’s when I know I’ve done my job.”
In addition to her busy schedule as a professional musician, mate in marriage and active mom, Carey has been especially active with regards to charitable causes including Operation Gratitude, Worldfest, FemMuse, Team Diabetes, Indie Music for Life and Angels Among Us for which she was selected as Top Sponsor. .
In these challenging times, Eileen Carey is the epitome of a woman who has faced the music and strived to tell us her story.

“I Love Beer” by Rio Grand

DANNY RIVERA
- Lead Vocals, Acoustic and Electric Guitar, Banjo, Dobro and Lap Steel.
Danny began his musical career as a roadie for a south Texas band. Down time between shows left room for one of the band members to show him a couple of chords on the guitar. Those three chords sparked an interest in performing that has been going strong ever since. “Once it’s in your blood – it’s hard to stop”, he says. Life on the road landed him a regular gig with capital recording artist Allison Paige, which in turn united him with Tommy Rennick and Graham Artist Management. Two years later, their combined efforts brought to life Rio Grand and a record deal with Curb Records.

TOMMY RENNICK
- Bass Guitar, Backing Vocals.
Tommy started dabbling in music at the age of 16 when his uncle bought him a red Gremlin bass. With influences from Creedence Clearwater Revival, Tom Petty and the Beatles he honed his playing skills and landed his first gig at 19 with 37 South a Corpus Christi hometown band of his high school buddies. Four years at Texas A and M and a music degree later, he began playing with Allison Paige where he met Danny Rivera. It was a year later that the two formed what was to become Rio Grand.

FRED STALLCUP
- Lead and Acoustic Guitar, Backing Vocals.
The youngest of three musical brothers, Fred began playing guitar at age 11. As the boys grew, they began playing nightclubs and bars from El Paso to Jacksonville. Over time they found they enjoyed the art of writing original music over performing and disbanded. Fred pressed on with various bands but found most members not cut out for a grueling tour schedule. Out of frustration, he took a day job and a break from the business. But it wasn’t long until he was approached by a member of Herbert Graham’s Management team and asked if he’d be interested in playing with a new band called Rio Grand. He’d seen them perform and his answer was “It’s magic and I have to be a part of it.”
