It’s A Girl For Little Big Town’s Kimberly Roads

Posted by admin On July - 31 - 2007

Kimberly Roads of Little Big Town and husband Stephen Schlapman are the proud parents of Daisy Pearl, born July 27th in Phoenix, AZ. Like all things Little Big Town, young Daisy Pearl chose her own time, and decided to make her debut a few weeks early, while on the road with the band.

“I guess we really DO do everything together,” said an exhausted but overjoyed Roads, “Sweet little Daisy Pearl wasn’t due for another three weeks, but it seems life on the road is just too exciting to be missed.” The baby weighed in at 6 lbs 10 oz.

Bandmates Karen Fairchild, Jimi Westbrook and Phillip Sweet (who, with wife Rebecca, is also expecting his first child later this year) accompanied Roads and husband Schlapman to the hospital, before departing for their next show in Vegas, where, in true showbiz style, the show did go on.

"It was the first time we have ever done a show without all four of us," said Little Big Town's Jimi Westbrook. "This is a special situation and we all decided that's what needed to be done. We only have a few shows left on the tour and we just didn't want to disappoint the fans. We can't even tell you how much we are missing Kimberly and, of course, little Daisy."

Once the tour is done, following the group’s August 5th performance in Boise, Idaho, Little Big Town will return to the studio to wrap up work on their second CD for Equity, scheduled for release this fall.

Posted by admin On July - 31 - 2007

Singer, songwriter and venue-packing performer Toby Keith has been voted Entertainer of the Year in the 2007 AboutCountryAwards on top web destination About.com. And Keith backed up that online title with a record-setting performance at Jamboree In The Hills.

Keith drew a whopping 48% of votes for the fan-voted About .com honor, more than 68,000 all told. On the third night of the festival in Ohio, Toby drew the largest crowd in the 30 year history of Jamoree In The Hills, the iconic event that regularly draws more than 100,000 music fans over four days.

According the the Charleston (WV) Daily Mail, Toby backed up that quantity with quality, giving attendees a top notch performance, saying "Keith's powerful two-hour-plus performance helped draw the largest crowd to a Saturday session."

As the Morristown, OH show proves, Keith's concerts continue to be among the top drawing live events in the nation. His current single "Love Me If You Can" continues its march to the top of the charts. And his exclusive performance and interview for A&E's Private Sessions premieres on the network this Sunday, August 5th (check local listings for airtimes).

Big Dog Daddy debuted at No. 1 overall on the strength of smash radio single "High Maintenance Woman." Keith serves as producer, writer, vocalist and background vocalist on the acclaimed album, released on his own Show Dog Nashville label.

His second release on Show Dog, BDD is his third to debut at No. 1 overall and fifth to top the Country sales chart. His Ford Trucks-sponsored Big Dog Daddy Tour runs through late September.
