Toby Keith Launches Show Dog Records

Country superstar Toby Keith now has something in common with Herb Alpert, the band leader who co-founded A&M Records even as he was dominating the charts. Like Alpert, Keith is launching his own record label while at the top of his game. Show Dog Records, a stand-alone label distributed by Universal, opens September 1.

Montgomery Gentry are taking their jeans off for charity.  Eddie and Troy have autographed a pair of jeans to be auctioned off during the National Hemophilia Foundation's Annual Celebrity Blue Jeans for Genes Auction on eBay, which will take place from November 19th - 29th, 2005.

Van Zant Re-Energizes Southern Rock

The popularity of Southern Rock is evident in modern country music from Gretchen Wilson and Montgomery Gentry to younger artist upstarts.  Now, two of the genre ringmasters, brothers Johnny and Donnie Van Zant from Lynyrd Skynryd and 38 Special, have a radio single well into the Top Ten of both the Billboard and R&R radio charts.

Miranda Lambert To Co-Host CMTÃŒs ÃŽTop 20 Countdown”

Miranda Lambert joined Blake Shelton onstage at CMT's "Duets" this summer and gave a much-talked-about performance of the Shelly West and David Frizzell classic, "You're the Reason God Made Oklahoma."   Now catch Miranda and Blake on Thursday, September 8, as they co-host CMT's "Top 20 Countdown."  The full "Duets" concert begins airing in September.
